A Bright and Fun Wilderness Reserve Wedding at Blyth Barn

Steph and Dan’s Wilderness Reserve wedding at Blyth Barn was a joyful, vibrant celebration full of love, laughter, and family. Their day combined bright pinks and whites with personal touches that reflected their fun and emotional style.

A Whirlwind Love Story

Steph and Dan first met in 2016 at a friend’s wedding. Their connection was instant, but life took them in different directions — Steph stepped away after a few dates. Five years later, Dan had become a dad and, with maturity and timing on their side, he reached back out. After reconnecting post-lockdown, their relationship moved quickly. Within six weeks, Steph was pregnant with their daughter, and in the following year, they bought a house, welcomed a stepdaughter, and embraced family life together.

Dan proposed in a truly romantic way: a rowboat on the River Thames in Richmond, followed by a private picnic with a musician playing in the background — a perfect, unforgettable start to their journey toward marriage.

Choosing Wilderness Reserve

The couple had initially considered Kew gardens. They wanted a venue that allowed more freedom, a relaxed timeline, and space for a two-day celebration. Wilderness Reserve in Heveningham ticked all the boxes. Its stunning Blyth Barn provided the perfect setting for their intimate yet lively wedding, combining elegance with family-friendly flexibility.

Style & Theme: Bright, Fun, and Emotional

Steph chose a bright pink and white palette, creating a wedding that felt both pretty and playful. Every detail, from décor to flowers, reflected their vision of a fun, emotional day.

Bridesmaids wore dresses from Six Stories, while Steph’s stunning gown came from Suzanne Neville’s Knightsbridge boutique, tailored and finished by her team. Louboutin shoes and Liberty in Love jewelry completed her bridal look.

Florals were designed by Figa & Co, while Array Banquet Hire helped with venue styling. Carly from Bells on provided stationery and signage, keeping everything cohesive and charming.

Dan and his groomsmen wore sharp suits from Moss Bros, balancing the day’s playful energy with classic elegance.

Ceremony & Family Moments

Steph was walked down the aisle by her father. The ceremony included a reading by bridesmaid Kylie, musical performances by Poppy, and hymns woven with fun songs to keep the atmosphere light and meaningful.

Immediately following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a confetti moment, capturing the excitement of their first official steps as a married couple.

Reception & Speeches

Guests enjoyed a relaxed, two-day-style celebration in Blyth Barn. During the wedding breakfast, guests found their seats with their named tambourines which were very much used during the four speeches.

Steph and Dan’s first dance to All My Love by Coldplay kicked off the evening, opening the dancefloor for friends and family. DJ Pedro Truly Medly Deeply kept the energy high, ensuring a lively party.

Advice from the Couple

Steph and Dan’s advice to other couples:

  • Avoid dry hire venues — less is more.

  • Focus on meaningful elements like vows and key moments.

  • Invite everyone you truly want; don’t stress over dropouts.

By prioritizing love, family, and fun, their Wilderness Reserve wedding became a celebration full of personality, color, and warmth — a day that was uniquely theirs.
