My approach and style to weddings is very natural, documentary and beautiful.
I capture details and moments that will make you smile for many years to come!
Natural, Creative & Relaxed.
As a documentary wedding photographer, I am there to tell the story of your day.
I work carefully to capture your day as it unfolds – starting from getting ready in the morning, through to you showing me your best moves on the dance floor.
I want to capture the raw emotions that weddings evoke. If I hear tears of joy, laughter or even tears of sadness I want to document those very special moments from your day. I want to show you things that you may not have even noticed your self during the day. Your memories will be different to those of your new husband or wife and I want to bring you a collection of beautiful images that you can both remember for many many years to come.
I will also work with you to create some beautiful portraits of the two of you – seeking the best light, and always striving for authenticity.
I love details. I will photograph lots of little details from your wedding attire through to the intricate table decor that you have probably been careful planning in the months leading up to your special day.
My favourite kind of weddings are those that are totally chilled and laid back. I also love alternative couples, elopements, unusual- rustic- quirky venues, outdoor wedding ceremonies, destination weddings, same-sex marriages, floral crowns, over the top confetti (the more the better!), smoke bombs, sparklers, first looks and hidden surprises… all of these and more, please.
Choosing your wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your wedding. Because of this I am always very happy to discuss any of your questions via telephone, email or in person. In fact I love meeting up with couples when they first enquire - its really really important that you click with your wedding photographer- after all, they spend the majority of the most important day of your life with you.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance of the wedding do we need to book?
It’s crazy just how far in advance I book weddings (you're all so organised!); I am currently almost fully booked for 2019 and have a good amount for 2020 so once you have your venue booked then get in touch as soon as you can to check if i have your date available still. if not, I can recommend some similar style photographers for your date.
How do we book you to photograph our wedding?
There are a couple of ways you can book me for your wedding; this can be via email/ Skype for initial discussions followed by me sending my online booking form and contract (please check I STILL HAVE YOUR date FREE before completing this form) OR we can meet for a cuppa and have a chat about your day. To secure your booking with me I require the signed contract along with a non refundable deposit of £200. The remainder of the payment is due one month before your wedding date.
D0 you take formal group photos?
As mentioned above I like to capture your day as it occurs so its more natural and documentary style. I do however understand that many people (especially parents and grandparents) love the formal group shots. I would normally recommend limiting these to no more than 8-10, so that we can do these as quickly as possible to allow you to enjoy your day. I would usually recommend : Parents, Grandparents, Immediate Family, Bridal Party! Of course, I love the informal groups shots, the bride with her girls, the groom with his groomsmen, friends etc.. the children playing, you TWO together and all of the other wonderful things that are happening in your day!
Are you insured?
Yes absolutely. I am fully insured with both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
How long do you stay at our wedding?
I generally start around 2.5 hours prior to the ceremony which is plenty of time to capture the bridal preparations. I will meet the bride wherever she is getting ready and start of with the details; dress, shoes, flowers etc.. then photograph the girls getting ready. If you would like groom prep covered then I suggest adding my second photographer option as they will cover this. I will also capture your venue and details as soon as I am there.
During your ceremony I will always endeavour to position myself at the top of the aisle. However, some venues (particularly Churches) do not allow this so please check beforehand. There are times where I have had to shoot weddings from the back of the aisle and whilst this is also a pretty perspective it doesn't allow me to photograph your faces very well; again, my second will capture this perspective if opted for.
I put my camera down during the meal as nobody will appreciate a photo whilst eating OR having a fork in their mouth. This is the time I take to refuel myself. I generally photograph up until you hit the dance floor, obviously after I have captured your first dance. If you require longer coverage into the evening I offer extra hours photography. Alternatively, after all of that, if you require a shorter coverage for your wedding day than get in touch as I love a mini wedding here and there!
Do you require a meal?
I never stipulate to my couples to provide a meal for me but of course I always appreciate being fed, even with a bar meal - I am super happy with that over a three course meal. My alternative would be a warm, soggy sandwich that has been in the car all day as there simply isn't the time to pop off to find food, especially in rural locations.
How many photographs should we expect?
There is no limit to the amount of shots I would take on your wedding day, but I would estimate to provide you with a minimum of 400 images of what I believe to be the VERY best representation of your day.
How soon after our wedding will we be able to see our photos?
I take great care in the post production work on your photographs so I aim to provide your final images by 8 weeks after your wedding date. The images will be available for you to view via the secure online gallery. This is completely password protected which is only given to the couple by me. If you wish, you can share this with friends and family so that they can enjoy, view and even purchase any images directly from me. Prints start from only £3 so that they are very affordable to your fiends and family. The images will also then be sent to you on a presentation USB.
Can we buy an Album from you?
Yes of course, I offer a range of linen and leather albums. You can book a meeting with me so that I can show you the samples and options. Albums start from only £350 and can be purchased before or after the wedding. You can use your online gallery to select your favourites (usually between 50-75 images) and I will design your album for you. I send it to you to check before I send it to the professional lab so you know what to expect but I take all of the 'putting it together' stress away from you as you may have a new married life to be getting on with instead.. All albums are personalised too.
We have more questions..
