Summer Wedding at Bruisyard Country Estate

Some love stories start in the most unexpected places. For Molly & Karl , their journey began before they could even walk or talk—sharing the same creche at Martlesham Leisure as babies. Though they didn’t remember those early days, it was incredible to think they had crossed paths so young, only for fate to bring them back together years later.

From MSN Messages to a Forever Love

They went to separate primary schools but reunited at High School in 2007. A year later, after a few MSN messages back and forth, she asked Karl out over text in November 2008—and they had been together ever since!

With a relationship that began as a strong friendship, they believed this was the foundation that kept them solid over the years. Even when Karl worked in France, they made long-distance work. They moved to Northampton in 2021, got engaged later that year, and by July 2023, they had moved to France for Karl’s work—excited for whatever the next chapter would bring.

A Romantic, Intimate Proposal

Karl popped the question in the gardens of a beautiful manor house on a quiet Wednesday—just the two of them. It was romantic, intimate, and exactly what Molly had always wanted.

Rather than announcing the news straight away, they chose to keep it a secret for two weeks, soaking up the joy in their own little bubble before sharing it in person with their closest family and friends.

Finding the Perfect Venue

After looking at other local venues, there was one venue that stood out above the rest—Bruisyard Country Estate.

Bruisyard “was the one ” as it has the ability to have their closest family and friends stay for an entire weekend was a huge draw, making it the perfect place to bring everyone together, especially with loved ones traveling from all over.

A Minimalist, Elegant Wedding

The couple’s wedding style was chic, elegant, and timeless.

  • Karl and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, along with their page boy and both dads.

  • The bridesmaids were dressed in champagne/gold satin gowns, while the flower girls wore ivory dresses.

  • Their floral arrangements featured white and cream blooms with lush greenery and hints of gold incorporated into the décor.

  • The overall aesthetic? Minimalistic, refined, and effortlessly beautiful.

Wedding Planning Advice: Keep It Simple & Enjoy the Moment

Looking back, they had some down-to-earth advice for other couples:

"As long as there’s food, drink, and music, everything will be fine! It’s easy to get caught up in trying to create a Pinterest-perfect wedding, but your guests won’t care about gold cutlery or whether there’s a champagne tower. The most important thing is the love between you two and celebrating that with your favorite people."

Wise words from a couple who truly knew what mattered most!
