Houchins WEDDING VENUE, Coggleshall ESSEX | Relaxed summer wedding

Kelly and Nyall are one of the most chilled couples I have met. They went for a festival styled wedding breaking many of the formal traditions, including even having their speeches outside in the beautiful gardens of Houchins Wedding Venue, with the sun beaming down on their guests who were enjoying a glass of fizz and canapés!!

How and when did you meet? What's your love story - is there a romantic or funny proposal?

We were introduced by mutual friends and fell in love at a music festival in 2014. We had said the L word within two weeks of knowing each other. Nyall proposed in Cornwall just before our 1 year anniversary.

What made you choose your venue? Did you look at many others?

We chose the venue for its relaxed rustic theme. We are trying to avoid being to traditional and love the idea of a festival style wedding/party.

Another option we looked at was having tipis in my nans field.

Do you have a theme or inspiration in your wedding? What kind of style would you describe your wedding? colours etc..

We are using the word alternative... :)

We are into our rock music, festivals and are trying to keep the wedding more like a party, very relaxed. The bridesmaids will be in green. The flowers are going to be mostly wild.
